Celebrities have a right to privacy. Do you agree or disagree?

What´s your take on this issue?

(someone’s attitude or opinion about a situation)

How much privacy can, and should, celebrities who make their living in the public eye expect?
Celebrities need to realise that to a certain extent they are public property.
For years, the tabloid press has made its reputation on "exclusives" involving celebrities' private lives. The relationship between celebrities and the media is such that one cannot exist without the other.

If you want privacy, you can obtain it by keeping a delicate balance between the needs of promoting what you have to professionally  and how you conduct your life.
If you use the media, you can't complain too much when the media uses you.
Politicians are so hypocritical ˌhɪpəkrɪtɪkəl/ They preach about 'family values' while they all seem to be having affairs. If a politician is lecturing about family values while they're having affairs, then they deserve to be shown up.

The public play a huge part in the privacy debate, thanks to the rise in gossip columns and magazines whose readership depends on an appetite for celebrity scandals.
The incessant /ɪnˈsesənt/ need of the public to know what every celebrity is doing is phenomenal.                 (incessant=constant)
(Phenomenal= very great/impressive)
Certain celebrities are so desperate for publicity.
Higher profile stars will probably think twice about doing exclusive interviews and be more aware of what they do.

The press must be free, but they must be responsible.

Everyone has a right to privacy and the paparazzi should not be allowed to interfere in their lives. They should be arrested and fined for invading the privacy of others and the magazines who buy the pictures should be sued as well. Why should actors be treated like this? Just because they earn more money or because of what? I think it is unfair because the paparazzi are killing the actors and pushing them too far.

Any celebrity knows perfectly well that when they are famous, the press is going to try and dig out all the secrets from their private life, but I do think that some things should be private because we are all human!

I think that it seems a bit unfair that the press is too hard on the celebs. Some celebs just want to sing, or act, not be a red-carpet walking person. They're just doing something that they really love as an activity and are so good that they are famous for it.

Even though they should have a right to their privacy, the reality is that once you put yourself in the spotlight you must expect a certain amount of attention in your personal life. It's the price you pay for having such a high profile occupation/lifestyle.

Whether by aiming for high positions or for moments in the spotlight, celebrities of all kinds strive to be stars, to be heard and recognized. However, this doesn't mean that the intrusion of every detail of their private lives becomes justifiable. Those actors, celebrities and politicians are humans too. They do need their own privacy and they have the right to it, just like any other person.

Members of the paparazzi should be arrested for stalking. I believe that celebrities should have a right to privacy. Honestly, if I followed some random person around and took pictures of them, I would be put on trial faster than I could say, "but the paparazzi do it". Doing it to famous people should not be allowed.

French law states that taking a picture of you while you are in your home/car ... (anywhere private) without your consent is forbidden, but allows any shot taken in a public area (with restrictions concerning publication). If the shot is taken at home, paparazzi may be fined. If the shot is taken outside and published, the publisher may be sued for reparations.
